FACES

Marble sculptures collection

Designed by Dainelli Studio, Faces is a small self-produced collection of decorative sculptures, tailor-made for Artemest, an Italian e-commerce platform which offers handcrafted, luxury design items.

The project finds inspiration in cubist portrait paintings, where faces appear geometrically disassembled, superimposed, amalgamating space, time and multiple points of view.

Faces and profiles are a recurring theme in the aesthetic approach adopted by Dainelli Studio, a pattern that often reemerges in the form of objects and decorative elements.

In the Faces collection this motif is portrayed using various types of marble and stone, deconstructed - as happens with cubist imagery - and reassembled to create new combinations of materials and forms. The result is a series of precious, thought-through objects which make a strong statement.

FACES

Ceramic sculptures collection

Anthropomorphic profiles are a recurring element in the aesthetics of Dainelli Studio. After experimenting with canvases, fabrics and marbles, the creative duo has chosen to play on these familiar and known forms using a new material: ceramics.

The collection of decorative sculptures Faces Ceramic takes up the stylized faces, homage to cubism and the Bauhaus, giving a new materiality to the project. The ceramic reinterprets the faces in a softer way, rounding the sharp edges that characterize the first marble versions made for Artemest.

In the new version of Faces Ceramic, with a glossy touch, the shapes and thicknesses of nose and eyes play with light in a different way, capturing or reflecting it.

Available in three colours - chalk, wasabi, black - and in three different variations and sizes, these totemic sculptures open the way to multiple chromatic and dimensional customizations.
